Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our website or engaging Seran Home Automation for any services. By accessing our website or signing a service agreement with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

In these Terms of Service:

  • "Seran", "we", "us", "our" refers to Seran Home Automation, registered at 44, 6th C Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560011.
  • "Website" refers to www.seranhome.com and all its pages and subdomains.
  • "Services" refers to home automation consultation, design, supply, installation, programming, and after-sales support provided by Seran.
  • "Client", "you", "your" refers to any individual or organisation that accesses our website or engages our services.
  • "Agreement" refers to the signed service contract between Seran and a Client for a specific project.

2. Website Use

By using our website, you agree to:

  • Use it only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems
  • Not transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content through our contact forms or communication channels
  • Not use automated tools to scrape, copy, or harvest content from our website without prior written permission

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate website access for anyone who violates these conditions.

Accuracy of Information

While we strive to keep all website content accurate and up to date, product specifications, pricing, and availability are subject to change. All pricing shown on the website is indicative. Final pricing is confirmed only in a written quotation.

3. Our Services

Seran provides smart home and building automation services including but not limited to:

  • Free initial consultation and site survey
  • System design and bespoke automation proposals
  • Supply and installation of automation hardware and software
  • System programming, commissioning, and user training
  • Ongoing maintenance, support, and system upgrades

Free Consultation

Our free consultation service is provided without obligation. Attending a consultation does not create any contract or commitment to purchase. Seran reserves the right to decline to provide services at its discretion.

Third-Party Products

We integrate third-party hardware and software (e.g. Control4, KNX, Lutron). While we select only reputable brands, Seran is not the manufacturer of these products and is not liable for manufacturer defects beyond what is covered under our own warranty terms and the applicable manufacturer warranty.

4. Quotes & Payments

Quotations

All written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are subject to a site survey and may be revised if site conditions differ materially from what was initially discussed.

Payment Terms

  • 50% advance payment upon signing the Agreement and before material procurement begins
  • 40% upon completion of installation and before final commissioning
  • 10% upon final handover, user training, and client sign-off

Payment is accepted via bank transfer, UPI, or cheque. All amounts are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated in the quotation.

Late Payments

Overdue payments beyond 15 days from invoice date may attract interest at 1.5% per month. Seran reserves the right to pause work on projects with outstanding payments.

Advance payments are non-refundable once material procurement has commenced, except in cases where Seran is unable to fulfil the agreed scope of work.

5. Installation

Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the property during agreed working hours
  • Ensure that civil work, electrical conduit, and other prerequisites are completed before Seran's installation team arrives (as specified in the Agreement)
  • Notify Seran of any existing infrastructure, warranties, or conditions that may affect installation
  • Obtain any required permissions from housing societies, landlords, or local authorities

Delays

Seran will not be liable for delays caused by incomplete civil work, unavailability of access, acts of God, supply chain disruptions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Revised timelines will be communicated promptly.

Changes During Installation

Any changes to the agreed scope of work requested after the Agreement is signed may result in additional costs and revised timelines. All scope changes must be agreed in writing before implementation.

6. Warranty & Support

Seran Workmanship Warranty

We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installation work from the date of handover. This covers defects in installation quality and system configuration but does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, physical impact, water ingress, or power surges
  • Modifications made by the client or unauthorised third parties
  • Normal wear and tear of consumable components
  • Internet or network connectivity issues outside Seran's installed systems

Product Warranty

All hardware supplied by Seran carries the manufacturer's standard warranty (typically 1–3 years depending on product). Warranty claims for hardware defects are processed through the respective manufacturer with Seran's assistance.

Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)

We offer optional AMC packages for continued support beyond the warranty period. AMC terms are specified separately in the AMC agreement.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, graphics, logos, system designs, and documentation — is the intellectual property of Seran Home Automation or its licensors and is protected under Indian copyright law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any website content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. You may print or download content for personal, non-commercial reference only.

System designs, programming code, and automation logic created by Seran for client projects remain the intellectual property of Seran unless otherwise agreed in writing in the project Agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Seran's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the specific project giving rise to the claim
  • Seran shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including loss of income, data, or business opportunity
  • Seran is not liable for system failures caused by power outages, internet disruptions, third-party software updates, or events outside our control

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.

9. Termination

Cancellation by Client

A client may cancel a project Agreement by written notice to Seran. Cancellation charges apply as follows:

  • Cancellation before material procurement: advance deposit forfeited
  • Cancellation after procurement begins: cost of procured materials + 15% administration fee
  • Cancellation during installation: all costs incurred to date + 20% of remaining project value

Termination by Seran

Seran may terminate an Agreement if the client breaches any material term (including non-payment), fails to provide required access, or engages in conduct that makes it unreasonable to continue. In such cases, all work completed to date will be invoiced and must be settled within 14 days.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.

We encourage clients to contact us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal legal remedies. We are committed to fair and prompt resolution of all disputes.

Amendments

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
